The Paldor Peak boasts sweeping views stretching from Mt Machhapuchhre to the Mt. Shisapangma and the brown hills of Tibet.
Kathmandu
Experience the old city on a guided tour, enjoy a welcome dinner at one of Kathmandu finest Nepali restaurants and board the bus for Sundarijal. This journey shows you something of the central hills of Nepal.
Dhunche-Base Camp
Kathmandu is the Gateway to the Peaks of the Ganesh Himal. These accessible peaks are very near and so is our favorite Paldor. Drive to Dunche, a picturesque village of narrow streets lined with stone buildings. Continue to Syabrubesi, on the banks of the Trisuli River at 1420m, before heading into the valleys of Langtang. The route is via Beautiful Tamang Villages to Mailung Khola (river). The Walk is delightful in the foothills of the Himalaya and as we move up through pine and rhododendron forests. There are dramatic views northward to snow peaks in Tibet, west to Ganesh Himal and east to Naya Kangri Peak (5486m), while birds and a variety of wildlife abound in the surrounding forest. Explore the moraine filled valleys, and acclimatize while slowly gaining the hills of the Gosaikunda Range. Finally reach the summit camp and eventually the top of the Paldor Peak. This easy Peak can be climbed from North East, South East, and South West Ridges. It has a beautiful north-sloped valley and offers the best skiing for the more intrepid! Spend time exploring this Peak and then bus back to Kathmandu for a city adventure.
