Mt. Changa Bang Expedition
Overview

Changabang is the part of a group of peaks that form the northeast wall of the Nanda Devi Sanctuary. It is a particularly steep and rocky peak, and all routes on it are serious undertakings. It has been the site of many world-class climbs. It does not have a high topographic prominence, being slightly lower than its near neighbor Kalanka to the east, and lower than many other peaks in the immediate vicinity. But its steep rocky profile has made it a much more attractive destination than its elevation would indicate

Outline Itinerary Day 1: Arrive Delhi. Met upon arrival and transfer to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2 : Delhi Morning visit I.M.F. for briefing and to clear all the formalities. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3: Delhi - Rishikesh Morning after breakfast drive down (225 km )to reach Rishikesh. Upon arrival check-into the hotel for the overnight stay. Rest of the day free for leisure activities.

Day 4: Rishikesh - Joshimath Morning after breakfast drive down (270 kms) to reach Joshimath (1800 mt).Upon arrival check-into the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 5: Joshimath Today visit Local Administrative office for the inner line permit and Forest office of Nanda Devi (Biosphere Reserve) National Park for permission.Overnight in the Hotel.

Day 6: Joshimath - Juma - Ruing Morning after breakfast drive upto Juma Village (40 kms).From Juma start trek (4 kms) to reach Ruing Village (1900 mt).Overnight stay in the camp

Day 7: Ruing – Dronagiri Morning after breakfast trek to reach Dronagiri Village (2800 mt) . Covering 8 kms uphill climb in 4-5 hrs.The trail goes through the beautiful lush green forest.Arrive Dronagiri Village and set up camp for overnight stay.

Day 8: Dronagri – Bagni Glaciar Base Camp Morning after breakfast trek to the Changabanga Base Camp (4200 mt) via Dronagiri Kol and Dronagiri Gad covering 12 kms in 5 -6 hrs. Overnight stay in the Camp.

Day 9 to Day 49:Establish Higher Camps and Attempt Peak.

Day 50 : Base Camp – Dronagiri Morning after breakfast windup Base Camp and trek to Dronagiri Village. Set up the camp for overnight stay.

Day 51: Dronagiri – Juma – Joshimath. Morning after breakfast trek down to reach Juma via Ruing Village and further drive down to Joshimath. Upon arrival check-into the hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 52: Joshimath – Rishikesh Morning after breakfast drive to Rishikesh. Upon arrival check-into at hotel for overnight stay.

Day 53: Rishikesh – Delhi Morning after breakfast drive to Delhi and upon arrival check-into the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 54: Depart Delhi Morning after breakfast visit to IMF for debriefing. Rest of the day free for independent activity. Later transfer to International airport to board flight for onward destination.
