Milam Glacier Trek
Overview

At an altitude of 4268 mt , Milam Glacier is 27 km long and the largest in the Kumaon region. Milam village which lies near the glacier is one of the highest villages in the Himalayan range , located on old trade route to Tibet. Rich in handicrafts and traditional folklore this area is relatively unexplored and retains the cultural traditions of the Kumaon.

Outline Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Delhi : Met upon arrival at Delhi International Airport and transfer to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2: Delhi - Almora : Drive to reach Almora which is one the the larger town of Kumaon region. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 3: Almora - Munsiyari : Morning after breakfast drive to reach Munsiyari (2290 mt) by covering appox 145 kms. Arrive and checkinto tourist bungalow for overnight stay.

Day 4: Munsiyari - Gauri Ganga - Lilam : Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Lilam (2484 mt) by covering appox 16 kms via Gauri Ganga valley. Arrive and overnight stay in tents.

Day 5: Lilam - Railkot : Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Railkot (3200 mt) by covering appox 12 kms. Arrive and overnight stay in tents.

Day 6: Railkot - Mapa : Morning after breakfast startr trekking to reach Mapa (3328 mt) by covering appox 10 kms. Arrive and overnight stay in tents.

Day 7: Mapa - Milam Village : Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Milam Village (3423 mt) by covering appox 10 kms. Arrive and overnight stay in tents.

Day 8: Milam Village - Glacier - Milam Village : Morning after breakfast start trekking (20 km) to reach Milam Glacier 3926 M. Arrive and enjoy the panoramic view from the glacier. Return to Milam village for overnight stay in tents.

Day 9: Milam Village - Martoli : Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Martoli (3385 mt) by covering appox 15 kms. From here one can have beautiful view of Nanda Devi East and Nanda Kot peaks. There is a temple dedicated to Goddess Nanda Devi at the village. Overnight stay in tents.

Day 10: Martoli - Lilam : Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Lilam by covering appox 25 kms. Arive and overnight stay in tents.

Day 11: Lilam - Munsiyari : Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Munsiyari by covering appox 16 kms. Arrive and checkinto tourist bungalow for overnight stay.

Day 12: Munsiyari - Pithoragarh : Morning after breakfast drive to reach Phitoragarh by covering appox 145 kms. Lunch on the way. Arrive and checkinto tourist bungalow for overnight stay.

Day 13: Pithoragrah - Delhi : Morning after breakfast drive to reach Delhi by covering appox 479 kms. Lunch on the way. Arrive and checkinto hotel for overnight stay.

Day 14: Depart Delhi : Optional sightseeing of Delhi. Later departure transfer to international airport to board flight for onward destination.
