Outline Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive - Kolkata : Welcome to India- a country where hospitality is a way of life ; to a culture steeped in tradition, a land where history lives in music and dance. Our representative will receive you at the airport in a traditional manner with garlands and escort you to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2: Kolkata - Bagdogra - Darjeeling : Morning after breakfast you will be taken to the Domestic Airport to board flight to Bagdogra (Flight leaves at 1210 Hrs.). Our representative will receive you at Bagdogra Airport (At 1310 Hrs.) and transfer you to Darjeeling. Drive takes four hours with a short tea break at Kurseong. Upon arrival at Darjeeling , check-in at your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 3: Darjeeling : Early morning drive to Tiger Hill to see the magnificent view of sunrise over Mount Kanchenjunga and the great Eastern Himalayan ranges. On the way back we visit Ghum Monastery (Yiga Choling Buddhist Monastery) which has the image of Maitreya Buddha ( the future coming Buddha ). Post breakfast we drive to Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre to see the excellent handicraft works on carpets, woolen goods, woodwork, leatherwork etc made by the Tibetan refugees from Tibet. This would be followed by a visit to the famous Himalayan Mountaineering Institute which has a museum specializing on the various expeditions on peaks of the Himalayas and an exclusive Everest Museum which tells us the history along with its expeditions to Everest. The day would come to an end with a ride on the Famous Toy Train of Darjeeling. Drive back to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 4: Darjeeling - Pemayangtse : The drive today is a long one but interesting for scenic views of curved valleys and the serpentine rivers and of course the green vegetation of our hills. We drive down the hills via tea garden called Tukvar and Singla tea estate. Takes us two hours to reach the border post of Sikkim called Naya Bazaar Post. After our clearance from the immigration post we drive towards the Legship valley mostly following the upper course of river Rangit. We stop for our lunch break at the small village town of Legship. From here the road climbs uphill towards the town of Gyalzing (the district headquarter of Western Sikkim) and passes up till we reach the top most ridge of Pemayangste. Finally the cold winds blows giving us a chilly welcome to the town of Pelling. Upon arrival check-in at the hotel for overnight halt.

Day 5: Pemayangtse - Rumtek - Gangtok : After an Early Breakfast procced to Pemayangste Monastery (Situated at an altitude of 6840 ft (2105 mts) Pemayangste is famous for its Nyingmapa monastery which is situated on the top of the hill of Gyalsing town (6kms away). The Kanchenjunga mountains from here is said to be 40 kms crows fly. The monastry has numerous religious idols and other objects of worship, most of which are priceless because of antiguity. Post sightseeing we will drive towards Gangtok The Capital city of Sikkim (115 kms (via Rabongla ) via Teesta and Rangit rivers and the hilly pass of Ravongla. We pass through small towns, paddy fields, wet cardomom plantation, small monastries and of course the magnificeint view of Kanchenjunga and its ranges from the hills of Ravongla. A 4 Hours drive takes us to Rumtek Monastery - The seat of Karmapa who heads the Karma - Kagyupa sect of Tibetian Buddhism. Built in 1960s the monastery is said to be the biggest monastery in Sikkim which has its own school to impart teachings in Tibetan and various aspects of Tibetian Buddhism). Arrive Gangtok in the evening and check-in at your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 6: Gangtok : Morning after breakfast you will proceed for a guided exploration of the City of Gangtok covering Institute of of Tibitiology at Deorali (The Institute of Tibetiology, which was established in 1958 to promote research on the language and culture of Tibet as well as Mahayana Buddhism). The attractions of the day would include Enchey Monastery and the Institute of Cottage Industries run by the Government of Sikkim. The day will come to an end with your visit to the Flower Show in the city (A permanent flower show place has been established by the floriculture department on the upper part of the town and is run all year round). Return to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 7: Gangtok - Bagdogra - Kolkata - Depart : After an early breakfast we leave for Bagdogra airport which takes us about 5 hours. Our drive is mostly along the beautiful river Teesta. We pass through the Old beautiful British built bridge " Coronation Bridge". Passing through the outskirts of Siliguri we drive towards Bagdogra airport on the Calcutta Highway. Fly to Kolkata (Flight leaves at 1345 Hrs.). Our representative will receive you at Kolkata airport (At 1445 Hrs.) and take you for a brief sightseeing of the city. You would be presented with “Momentos” as a token of love before our representative escorts you to the International Airport to board flight for onward destination
